Our teams of students and volunteer leaders will be working two Saturdays in April and one in May from 8-4. ​ Our goal is to target April 22, April 29, and May 6. with mulch delivery on the day before (Friday). ​ ​Choose all the dates that work for you and we will work the scheduling out as best we can! ​

Tell me about the mulch?!

We are proud to offer dark brown mulch from a local supplier!

Can we use other mulch but still have students install it and donate?

YES! ​ If you have a special mulch you'd like to use, purchase it(MUST BE IN BAGS) and have it delivered (through whomever you choose) and our team can show up to spread your mulch.

How much mulch do I need?

​This is always the question! ​ Use a handy MULCH CALCULATOR by starting with your square footage and how deep you want the mulch to be. ​ The calculator we've linked to will show your amount in cubic yards. ​ If you normally buy bags of mulch, one cubic yard of mulch is 27 cu feet of mulch, or about 13.5 bags (2 cu ft bags at home depot, i.e.). ​ If you buy bags at Suburban, which are 3 cu foot bags, that would be 9 bags per cubic yard. ​ Things mulch sellers usually say is to a) cover your area 2-3" deep and b) order enough the first time. ​ Don't you hate going back to the store for more mulch?!

Do I have to be home when its installed?

We would prefer you to be home, but it is not required. ​ You would probably enjoy being home while the mulch crew is working - its a fun opportunity to meet the students you are sending to camp and learn their names/stories. ​ If that is impossible, we can install for you while you are away as long as you give us details of special preferences or requests.

Can I request which kids actually mulch my yard?

Yes! or Maybe! ​ Please request this on your signup form and we will work to coordinate that for you. ​ This, of course, will depend on their availability and demand.

When and how do I pay?

You can pay at the time your yard is mulched! ​ We accept checks or you can use the QR code on your invoice to pay online!

What is an appropriate donation amount?

We are suggesting a minimum donation amount of $200 - as mulch is a LOT of work! ​ You'll want to adjust that amount if you order more than 6 yards or so - based on how many man hours it takes to install. ​ For your reference - a $200 donation (small yard) would cover one student's chartered bus transportation to camp, a $300 donation (medium yard) would cover about a half scholarship, and a $600 donation (large yard or business) would cover a full scholarship of the balance due for a student. ​ The donation portion of your transaction is tax deductible.
